As a friend once said to me, “You cannot do better than your best.” This was said to me at a time when I was struggling mentally, trying to accomplish goals in my life without making sure I was mentally present. I was distant and dissociating from what was right in front of me.
This phrase, “You cannot do better than your best,” brought me back to myself. We have to learn to just be—to just do our best, and the rest will fall into place.
